Last week, I wrote a piece entitled, “We Will Face A Radically New Normal When Businesses Reopen And We’re Free To Leave Our Homes,” which offered a business-minded view into what’s likely to happen during the early stages of the reopening. It looks like a number of my predictions are being put into effect.

There were recent announcements from a number of large U.S. companies divulging their plans for when the economy is reopened. On the other end of the spectrum, startups also shared how they’re dealing with the aftershocks of the COVID-19 pandemic. Their agenda includes rigorous testing for the virus, social distancing at work, prohibiting travel, hiring freezes and downsizings.

Amazon will use thermal cameras in their cavernous warehouses to screen workers to determine if they’re carriers of the virus. The large online retailer, who is greatly benefiting from people sheltering at home, will conduct a second level of testing involving a thermometer check of the forehead.
